Science and Health Databases

The databases below contain a wealth of information on topics in the fields of science and health.*

This a science encyclopedia. It has searchable and browsable science encyclopedia articles, news articles, science project ideas and challenges, and scientist biographies. Additionally, it has a science fact finder and astronomy information.  Its intended audience is middle and high school students.

The name ScienceFlix can be deceiving: ScienceFlix does much more than offer science-related multimedia. Covering 50 scientific topics in areas of study ranging from health and the human body to technology and and engineering, ScienceFlix provides users with inquiry questions, project ideas and experiments, articles (each at three different reading levels with a read aloud feature), videos, and quizzes to demonstrate knowlege acquired. True Flix

TrueFlix has much more than media. With both social studies and science topics covered, each TrueFlix topic contains the following elements: introductory video, TrueFlix digital book (which can highlight words as they are read aloud and has other helpful features), other resources on the topic (including primary source documents), realted activities, and a lesson plan on the topic.
